What is Copper Metal?
Copper is our metal of choice for roofing and restoration work. It is environmentally friendly, renowned for its exceptional longevity, and provides any structure with a distinctive, elegant appearance.
Over time, copper naturally undergoes a weathering process that forms a protective surface layer known as patina. This patina evolves into rich blue-green or brown tones depending on the climate, enhancing both its durability and visual character.
We use copper for all flashing, gutters, ornamental details, and metal roofing systems, ensuring long-lasting performance, protection, and timeless beauty across every project.

Durability & Longevity
Designed for longevity, copper roofs can last over 100 years while naturally resisting corrosion, rust, and extreme weather conditions. Its durability comes from its natural ability to form patina, which actually protects the metal underneath rather than breaking down.

Patina Development
Over time, copper naturally develops a protective patina, shifting from a bright bronze color to a distinctive green hue while increasing its durability. The rate and final color of patina can vary depending on climate conditions. In coastal or humid environments, it may develop more quickly and take on greener tones, while in drier climates it may remain closer to brown or bronze for longer.

Installation Methods
Copper roofing is commonly installed in standing seam systems, featuring raised vertical seams that enhance water runoff, and flat seam systems, which use low-profile panels ideal for low-slope applications. Proper installation also accounts for copper’s thermal movement, which is significant compared to many other materials. This is why copper systems often use clips, slip joints, or floating seam details to prevent stress and buckling over time.
-
Soldering Importance
Proper soldering is critical because it creates a continuous, fused metal connection, rather than a mechanical overlap that could loosen over time. This helps eliminate weak points where water could penetrate, especially in valleys, seams, and flashing details. It’s also a skill that requires experience—poor soldering can lead to premature failure, so workmanship quality is a major factor in the overall performance of a copper roofing system.

Eco- Friendly & Low Maintenance
Fully recyclable and long-lasting, copper is a naturally low-maintenance roofing material that does not require painting, sealing, or protective coatings over its lifespan. As it ages, it develops a protective patina that continues to shield the surface without additional treatment. Copper is resistant to rot, insect damage, UV exposure, and biological growth, helping it maintain its integrity with minimal upkeep. In most cases, routine maintenance is limited to surrounding roofing components rather than the copper itself, making it a long-lasting and low-maintenance roofing solution.
